Meet Kerri
We have a new addition to the Scrapbook Crazy team. Let me introduce you to Kerri who will be writing some of the mini album tutorials and sharing her very creative and artistic talents.
Tell us about yourself Kerri.
I have been scrapbooking since 1999. Until recently I concentrated mostly on 12x12 albums. I have made a few smaller albums but the majority of the 50+ albums that I have completed have been 12x12.
My husband and I have been married since 20 May 2000 and we have a 6 year old son. I love watching You Tube videos to learn new crafts and techniques.
Favorite Crafts
My favorite crafts are scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, altering objects. I have also tried making jewelry, cards, paper, painting, embroidery and knitting. Along with crocheting and knitting I have tried tunisian crochet, broomstick lace, hairpin lace, loom knitting, tatting, and a little bit of weaving.
I am on Flickr and Ravelry. I also have a blog at Kerri's Crafts and an etsy shop called The Craft Stewards
Advice from a frugal scrapper to the beginner scrapper
I do not own any fancy expensive scrapbooking equipment. The most expensive
thing I own is my Making Memories trimmer and that was a gift. I don't have any
die cutting machines. I have very few punches and stamps. I take good care of
the tools that I do have. My circle and oval cutting system was one of the
first things I bought for scrapbooking back in 1999.
Going to thrift stores is one of my favorite things to do. I get great things
for crafting without spending a lot of money.
Having said all that I do have favorite products and there are a lot of products
and tools that I wouldn't mind having. I just thought that it might be
interesting for some scrappers to know what types of tools I have or don't
have. Especially if there alot of beginner scrapbookers visiting the
site. Sometimes it's overwhelming when you are just getting started in a
craft. You think you need all these expensive tools to get started when you
really don't, at least not at first! :)
