Scrappers are taking mini album making to the next level with a couple of great mixed techniques.
Mixed media
Making mini books with mixed media books has been around a little while and is simply putting together a compliment of different scrapbooking products to create pages to fill your mini book keepsake. Readily available prods that you may have at home that work well using this technique include tags, journaling spots, note pad paper, chipboard and die cuts. These mini books can be challenging to make but also a lot of fun. It is also a great way to use up some of those products that have been laying around for a while waiting to be loved.
Mixed shapes
Major retailers like Maya Road and Basic Grey are joining the fun too with another popular mixing technique and are releasing more and more lines of chipboard mini books where each of the pages are of a different shape and size. But there is no need to run out and purchase the latest and greatest chipboard albums when you can quite easily make your own. Get your hands on some chipboard, sketch a few different shapes that you think would work well together and you are half way to making mini album magic.
So Jump on board and make your mixed mini today. To get you started here is a template for five shapes that you can use to make your first album.
